Ecommerce net profit analytics for cash on delivery stores
Sales are one number and what you keep is another. The report subtracts goods, shipping, return shipping, ads and expenses, and warns you when something is missing instead of showing a profit higher than the real one.
What is ecommerce net profit?
Ecommerce net profit is what remains from sales after all costs. Rabehni calculates it for any period as delivered sales minus cost of goods, delivered shipping, return shipping, Meta ad spend, operating expenses and manual expenses. It also ranks best and worst products by profit, but it has no net profit column per order.
How net profit is calculated
Sales count on delivery
Sales here are the orders delivered in the period, by delivery date. Cost of goods is calculated on the quantity delivered in those same orders.
Return shipping is its own line
Shipping on delivered orders is one line. Shipping on orders that came back or failed is another, because that is cash spent with no revenue.
Meta ad spend comes in automatically
Meta spend arrives through the connection, with a breakdown per ad account. ROAS appears on the same screen.
Contribution profit until expenses are entered
If no operating expenses such as salaries and rent are recorded for the period, the screen labels the figure contribution profit, not net profit.
An illustrative net profit report
An illustrative example with invented figures for one month, using the report lines in their real order.
Delivered sales: EGP 100,000
Orders delivered in the month, by delivery date. A returned order is not in this line, so it adds no revenue.
Cost of goods: EGP 40,000
The cost of the quantity delivered in those same orders. Goods on a returned order are not in this line.
Shipping: EGP 8,000
The shipping cost of delivered orders only.
Return shipping: EGP 2,000
This is where a returned order costs you: one that came back with EGP 70 shipping adds EGP 70 here and nothing to sales. The line sums shipping on orders that returned or failed in the period.
Meta ads: EGP 20,000
Meta campaign spend across ad accounts in the period, entered as one figure from the connection and not spread over orders.
Operating expenses: EGP 10,000
Fixed costs such as salaries and rent enter here, from the expenses screen and by the date of the expense. They come off the whole period and are not spread over orders or products.
Manual expenses: EGP 1,000
What you add by hand on the report itself, without changing your accounts.
Net profit: EGP 19,000
100,000 minus 40,000, 8,000, 2,000, 20,000, 10,000 and 1,000. If no operating expenses are recorded for the period, the screen calls the result contribution profit.
Net profit by period
Any period, compared
Today, yesterday, the last 7 days, this month or a custom range. Each line shows its change against the previous period of equal length, alongside confirmation, delivery and return rates.
A monthly goal
In the this-month view you set a profit goal and see the amount achieved, the percentage and the projected month-end figure.
Manual entries and overrides
You can add a manual expense or override an automatic line, and an overridden line is flagged. Both live in report-only tables and do not change your accounts.
Exports with the detail
An Excel file with the same figures as the screen, a CSV of goods sold and their cost, and a CSV of delivered orders with amount and shipping cost.
Profit by product
Best and worst 5 products
Shown in period views, not single days. Product net profit here is revenue minus cost of goods, commissions and refunds, and it excludes shipping and ads.
The product performance report
For each product: revenue, cost of goods, profit, margin, confirmation rate and delivery rate. Profit in this report is revenue minus cost of goods.
When the profit figure is incomplete
Missing data reads as profit unless something points it out, so the report says so on screen.
Ad sync is behind
If Meta spend does not cover the whole period, a warning says profit is overstated, and ROAS and margin are hidden.
An expense stopped being recorded
If an expense account that appeared regularly is absent from this period, the report flags it with its typical amount.
Cash not collected yet
A separate card shows the amount and count of delivered orders whose cash has not landed, so profit is not mistaken for cash in hand.
A product with no cost
A product with no cost is counted at zero. The goods-sold export labels it as having no cost, so you can see where the figure came from.
Cohort profit and the order calculator
The cohort profit report
It assigns revenue and cost to the day the order was placed rather than delivered, so ad spend is compared with the orders it produced. Recent days are marked immature, and the decision total uses mature days only.
The order profit calculator
A public tool on the Rabehni site: you enter price, cost, shipping, fees, packing, confirmation cost, ad cost and return rate. You type the numbers yourself, and it does not read your orders.
Limits you should know
There is no net profit column or screen per order. For a single order, use the calculator with your own figures.
Product net profit does not allocate shipping and ads to products, so it is not the same as store net profit.
Meta is the only automatic ad line in this report. Spend on any other platform has to be entered as an expense.
The report is a management tool, not financial statements. It is only as accurate as the costs and expenses entered into it.
Common questions about store net profit
How do I calculate ecommerce net profit?
In the Rabehni report, net profit is delivered sales minus cost of goods, delivered shipping, return shipping, Meta ad spend, operating expenses and manual expenses. It is calculated for a day or any period you choose.
Does Rabehni show net profit per order?
No. Rabehni shows net profit per period and profit per product, but there is no net profit column per order. For a single order there is a public calculator on the site where you enter your own figures.
Why does my profit not match the cash I have?
The Rabehni report counts a sale on the delivery date, while cash on delivery money may still be with the carrier. A separate card shows the amount and count of delivered orders not yet collected.
How do I see which products make or lose money?
The Rabehni profit report ranks the best and worst 5 products in a period, using revenue minus cost, commissions and refunds, without shipping or ads. The product performance report adds margin and confirmation and delivery rates.
How is ad spend assigned in the profit report?
In the Rabehni net profit report, ad spend is not assigned to orders. Meta campaign spend per ad account is summed by day and subtracted as one figure from the net for the period, against sales counted by delivery date. Product profit does not include ads. So the calculation is by period, not per order or per campaign. Separately, the ads screen compares each Meta campaign with the delivered orders linked to it, after shipping and discounts and without cost of goods.
Do TikTok and Google ads count in net profit?
In the Rabehni net profit report, the automatic ad line covers Meta only. TikTok or Google spend counts if you record it as a manual expense or on the expenses screen, and then it is subtracted from net profit.
What is the difference between daily profit and cohort profit?
In Rabehni, the net profit report counts an order by its delivery date, so it describes money movement. The cohort report counts it by the date it was placed, so it describes the return on ad spend, and its decision total uses mature days only.
